Ross Merrill is Chief of the Conservation Division of the National Gallery of Art, and brings an immense knowledge of painting and conservation technology to the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. His landscape scenes are almost always painted on site. He favors the use of alkyd paints because of their stability, but occasionally finishes up a work with oil paints. He is represented by the Susan Conway Gallery in Georgetown. |
