COMPETING ARTISTS AND JUDGE FOR PAINT ANNAPOLIS 2008
This year, 30 artists will compete in the 3-day painting exhibition: The 23 artists juried into the event and the seven founding members of Paint Annapolis. The entry and exhibition judge for this year’s event is Mark Karnes.

About the Judge
Mark Karnes has been a professor at Maryland Institute College of Art for almost 30 years. Mr. Karnes received his BFA in painting from Philadelphia College of Art and his MFA in painting from Yale University. Mr. Karnes’ awards have included the most prestigious in the United States. He received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts for his work in oil painting, the Jules Horelock Award, the Stuart Engel Prize in painting, and a Ford Foundation Grant. He has shown his work all over the United States and Europe and has several drawings in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
