The Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization that has been a steadfast advocate for the plein air painting community in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. The organization publishes The Palette Newsletter for members, is a catalyst to advertising a large number of plein air events both hosted by MAPAPA as well as events of interest hosted by other organizations.
As of 2019, the board of MAPAPA has also decided to have a late year general membership meeting to augment it's long standing spring annual meeting. Both meetings provide members with an opportunity to experience 2 to 3 outstanding 1 to 2 hour painting demonstrations in various media, a product, book and paint swap plus time for conversation and sharing plein air adventures with fellow members.
Consider joining or renewing your membership to MAPAPA. Paint outs are held nearly every month of the year with some paint outs providing a small demo and critique of work after the painting concludes for the day. Visit the membership portion of our website where activities are frequently posted and updated. The membership site offers members a calendar of events, opportunities to sign up for activities, a blog for members to exchange places and schedule informal paint out events and lots more.
Stay tuned for even more opportunities and member benefits that will be coming to MAPAPA in 2020.
